This 8 Day Rwanda Safari gives you a chance to trek gorillas & Chimpanzee primates in Rwanda’s top major tourist sites. It also includes a game drive which comes with wildlife viewing. This excursion starts and ends in Kigali the capital city of Rwanda.

Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Volcanoes

Upon arrival at Kanombe International Airport, you will be welcomed and picked by our guide who will drive you straight to Volcanoes National park in the North Western part of Rwanda.

Dinner and overnight at Kinigi Guest House (Budget)/ Le Bambou Lodge (Midrange)/ and Gorilla View Lodge/ Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge (Luxury).

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes

Early morning after breakfast, you will be transferred by our guide up to the park offices for a brief meeting highlighting about how to behave when you are with the mountain gorillas then after set off into the rain tropical forest with the Park ranger to begin Gorilla trekking which usually takes between 3-8 hours other factors remaining constant.

This excursion usually involves hauling through the muddy and thick forest, thus it is advisable to move with jean trousers, non- flash cameras, rain gear, packed lunch, bottled water, and strong boots for proper progress of your Safari. One hour permission is granted while in presence of these apes.

Dinner and overnight at Kinigi Guest House (Budget)/ Le Bambou Lodge (Midrange)/ and Gorilla View Lodge/ Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge (Luxury).

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest

On day three early in the morning check out and leave Volcanoes National park for transfer to Nyungwe forest national park in south western part of Rwanda. En route stop over for lunch, then proceed to the park arriving late in the evening.

Check in at your lodge on arrival for dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Guest House (Budget), Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (Midrange)/ or Nyungwe Forest Lodge (Luxury).

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe.

After early breakfast in the morning then be transferred by your guide to the forest to search for the exciting chimpanzee primates. These are ranked to be excellent fans to watch as they are playing in fruitful trees.

Chimpanzee tracking usually takes between 1-6 hours and this usually depends on their movement in the Jungle. You are granted one hour permission while with these primates. You are also exposed to several other primates in Nyungwe like silver monkey, owl faced monkey, L’Hoest Monkey, Rwenzori Colobus, and the red tailed monkey.

Return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for the evening guided nature walk in the forest, giving you an opportunity to view a variety of animals and several species of birds recorded sightable.

Dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Guest House (Budget), Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (Midrange)/ or Nyungwe Forest Lodge (Luxury).

Day 5: Nyungwe – Drive to Kigali

Have breakfast in the morning at the lodge and then after return to Kigali. En route stop over at Genocide memorial of Murambi which is a place where you will be explained about the 1994 Rwanda Genocide masuk.

Continue to Kigali for you Dinner and overnight stay at Chez Lando Hotel (Budget), /Mille Collines Hotel (Midrange)/ and Kigali Serena Hotel (Luxury).

Day 6: Kigali – Drive to Akagera

Early in the morning, after breakfast then transfer to Akagera National park in the Eastern part of Rwanda. Check in at the booked lodge on arrival for you dinner and overnight stay at Dereva Hotel (Budget) or Akagera Game Lodge (Luxury).

Day 7: Game drive and launch trip cruise.

Early in the morning after breakfast embark on the jeep for a game drive to search for the big game such as giraffes, elephants, lions, topi, impalas, Burch ell’s Zebra and a lot of avian life including the shoe billed stock and African jacana among others.

Arrive back at the lodge in time for lunch as you get prepared for the afternoon boat cruise along Lake Ihema exposing you to large number of hippos. After, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Dereva Hotel (Budget) or Akagera Game Lodge (Luxury).

Day 8: Return to Kigali.

Have early breakfast in the morning and then be driven back to Kigali. If time is on your side, visit the local markets, the education centre and genocide memorial sites plus lunch en route. After, transfer to Kigali International airport for your return flight back home.

Day 1: Kampala – Transfer to Bwindi

Early in the morning after breakfast, check out at the hotel and meet our driver guide. The journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park starts via Kampala – Masaka – Mbarara highway including en route stopover at the equator for some information about it, photos, cup of coffee and snacks.

The journey continues for another stopover in Mbarara town to have lunch. After lunch, continue to Bwindi where you will arrive in the evening. Check in at the lodge and accommodation options to stay include:

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Early in the morning, transfer to the Park offices for the short briefing conducted by the available officials to highlight trekkers on how to behave while in the jungle. After briefing, the journey to the jungle starts in a group following the permanently established routes searching for these apes.

Only one hour is allowed to stay in the presence of these apes after discovering their location. The one hour session includes sighting of these apes while feeding, laughing, playing plus taking photos and videos of them.

After the close encounter with these apes in the jungle return to the park offices for certificate award and then see your way to the lodge for relaxation.

Later in the evening you will do a community walk visiting the Batwa people in their local communities for different experiences including cultural performances, way of living and more.

Day 3: Bwindi – Transfer to Queen – Afternoon Boat Cruise.

After morning breakfast, check out and start the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the southern Ishasha sector route. Chance are high that you will sight the famous tree climbing lions resting up in the fig tree branches on your way.

Continue with the journey straight to Mweya canteen for lunch as you get prepared for the afternoon launch trip cruise along the Kazinga Channel.

Launch trip cruise along Kazinga Channel offers several panoramic views of areas around and aquatic species like Hippos, crocodiles, water bird species and wild animals which come closer to the banks in need of water.

After boat cruise, check in at the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation options to stay include:

Day 4: Game Drive in Kasenyi Plains – Transfer to Kampala

Have your delicious morning breakfast, Check out at the lodge and meet our driver for the morning game drive through the Kasenyi plains to catch the early risers like Kobs, Elephants, Buffaloes, spotted hyenas, reed bucks, different bird species and more.

After 2-3 hours game drive, the stirring journey back to Kampala starts accompanied with stunning views of areas around, rolling hills and terraces. En route stopover is included in Mbarara for lunch and after continue up to Kampala.

Our driver will drop you at the airport for your return flight or Hotel of residence if you are to stay for the night. End of four day amazing Safari in Uganda.
