Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:  Kampala Capital city Tour.

After Morning breakfast you will embark on your journey to visit Kampala city Uganda’s capital where you will be able to visit the mengo king’s palace (King of Buganda), Gaddafi mosque in the heart of Kampala with the best views of Kampala city, Boda Boda Experience(motor bike experience) and market experience then after you be taken back at your hotel

Main Destination: Kampala

Accommodation: Express view inn, Entebbe palm Hotel, Victoria rock resort

             Day 2: Travel from Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park

After a relaxed breakfast, you will be picked from your hotel in Kampala and drive through Bombo and Masindi town to Murchison falls national park. En-route at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking. Have lunch then proceed to Murchison falls national park via the Kichumbanyombo gate. You will be driven to the top of the falls for a breathtaking sight of the raging Nile as it forces its way through the rocky gap. It will take you about 6 hours to reach Murchison falls national park.

Main Destination: Murchison falls National park

Accommodation: Tangi safari Lodge, ikorom safari lodge, fort muchison and pakuba safari lodge.

Day 3: Game Drive/ Launch Cruise

Have a cup of coffee or tea and, go for an early morning game drive on the Northern Bank of the Murchison Falls National Park. Expect to view animals that are unique to the African Savannah including the giraffe, elephants, lion, antelopes, and the Uganda Kob. Return to the lodge for full breakfast and relax until lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a launch cruise along the Nile River which will take you to the bottom of the falls. Stand chances of seeing hippos basking in the sun, crocodiles, elephants, and a number of bird species including herons, ducks, and the bee-eater.

Accommodation: Tangi safari Lodge, ikorom safari lodge, fort muchison and pakuba safari lodge.

          Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale National Park.

After early morning breakfast, depart for Kibale National Park via the Albertine Escarpment of the western Rift valley along the Masindi-Fort portal road passing through the verdant countryside and traditional homesteads and farms. You will have your lunch on the way to kibale forest national park, you will proceed with your journey, upon your reaching you will check in and stay at the hotel for an overnight.

Main Destination: Kibale Forest National Park

Accommodation: Kibale forest lodge, Kibale forested camp, isunga lodge and Quereza canopy lodge.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Today, after early morning breakfast, you will be required to report to the ranger station in Kibale Forest National Park at around 8:00 am to track Chimpanzees. These apes are more closely related to humans than any other living creature. As you track these apes, you will see other primates including the Vervet monkeys, red colobus monkeys, Black-faced Vervet monkeys rare L’Hoest, blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, vervet monkeys, black-faced, and Baboons. You will also stand a chance of seeing a number of bird species as the forest is a home of about 335 recorded bird species. After lunch, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It will take you about 4 hours to reach the park.

Accommodation: Enjiri game lodge, Bush lodge, Buffalo safari Lodge and Ardvark safari lodge

Day 6: Game drive & Launch cruise

Have a cup of coffee and go for an early morning game drive. During this game drive, you will catch up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. Throughout the game drive, you will be likely to meet grazing hippos, elephants, lions, spotted hyenas, bushbucks, waterbucks, stripped jackal, leopard, and of course the several warthogs. Return to the lodge for lunch, After lunch, take an afternoon boat trip along on Kazinga channel. This will give you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink-backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle-billed stork, and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, a slow drive back to the lodge.

Accommodation: Enjiri game lodge, Bush lodge, Buffalo safari Lodge and Ardvark safari lodge

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today you transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The park is home to the few remaining mountain gorillas. Avian life and primate life in Bwindi is quite excellent as it houses over 348 species of birds. Here you will have your lunch on the way to Bwindi upon your arriving, you will check in and when you reach when its still early, you will have to do the batwa experience (pygimies) who used to live in forest of Bwindi forest

 

Main Destination:  Bwindi impenetrable National Park

Accommodation: Nshongi lodge, Rushaga Gorilla camp, Bweza Lodge

Meal Plan; Full Board.

 

Day 8: Gorilla trekking

After early morning breakfast and briefing from the guides, you will set off for the mountain gorilla tracking inside the Bwindi forest. The activity stands as one of the unique activities you will enjoy while photographing and observing the gorillas. After tracking, come back to the lodge and refresh and be transferred to lake bunyonyi for relaxation.

Main Destination: Lake Bunyonyi

Accommodation: Paradise Eco Hub, Overland resort Bunyonyi, Rock resort Bunyonyi

Meal Plan; Full Board.

Day 9: Travel back to kampala/Entebbe.

After a relaxing breakfast at the lodge, you will embark on your return journey to Entebbe or kampala. You’ll stop at the equator along the way and have your lunch after you can do some souvenir shopping and then proceed to airport or at your booked accommodation as you wait your flight to fly out.

Main Destination: Entebbe/ Kampala

Guidelines for trekking mountain gorillas and chimpanzees

  •  Don’t track the mountain gorillas or even chimpanzees if you have flu or cough.
  • The minimum trekking age for both primates is 15 years.
  •  Maintain a distance of 7 meters when in their presence to avoid the possibility of spreading diseases.
  •  You are allowed to spend only one hour with the mountain gorillas or chimpanzees.
  •  Avoid making noise when trekking or when in the presence of chimpanzees and mountain gorillas.
  •  Avoid littering the Park because rubbish or food leftovers become breeding places for germs.
  • Avoiding flash cameras for taking photos of mountain gorillas or chimpanzees.
